Nursing Home - Dunmurry
The Nursing Home at Dunmurry is the second project undertaken by ADP for the Primecare Group and again also includes a replacement church as part of the overall development.

Design
This site was the former location of the original St. Hildas church and is a sloping site, falling away from the main approach direction. The plan form chosen, a basic y shape, allows the placing of the new church so as to create a new focal point for the development. The home extends over three floors with the main residential accommodation on the ground and first floor level. The roof is a mansard style over the bedroom accommodation wings, and a full pitch and hipped roof over the link and entrance areas.

The mansard roofs on the wings have upper slopes at a very low pitch to allow the building to present a more domestic scale elevation to the surroundings. The kitchen and ancillary areas are restricted to one leg of the plan form on the lower ground floor level. This makes use of the sloping site and minimizes under-building as far as possible. Entry to this area is to the rear and away from the main access. The main entrance is a similar form to the Ballygomartin home with large glazed areas and a full pitched and gabled roof.
